Teaching as a Virtuous Calling
Ladies! Come hear from Dr. Thomas McCuddy, who will be speaking on “Teaching as a Virtuous Calling” on Sunday, February 15th, from 1-3PM after the 2nd service. Lunch at 12:30PM is provided in the Student Center with registration.
What does the Bible mean by teaching, why does the church need it, and how can ordinary believers do it well? This practical seminar walks through the biblical meaning of teaching, the spiritual gift of teaching, and the responsibilities God gives to those who handle His Word. We will look closely at how Jesus taught in the Gospels, why teachers must keep learning, and how Scripture forms both our message and our methods. Along the way, you will gather clear tools you can use right away and a greater understanding of character formation through virtue and how to conform to the image of Christ.
This workshop is for Bible study teachers, small group leaders, Sunday school teachers, youth workers, parents who disciple at home, and anyone who wants to help others follow Christ. You will leave with:
- A Bible-shaped definition of teaching and the gift of teaching
- A clear sense of a teacher’s responsibilities in life and doctrine
- A catalog of Jesus’ teaching methods with examples you can imitate
- Reasons and rhythms for continued growth as a teacher
- A short list of key virtues to cultivate for faithful, fruitful ministry
Come ready to open your Bible, sharpen your practice, and serve your church with clarity, courage, and love.
