Professional Summary
Denene’s independent filmmaker experience began as she combined her Event Producer, PR-Marketing expertise with Hollywood Family Entertainment work while earning her UCLA Professional Certificate in Film, Television and Video (Producing, Screenwriting, Directing) at night. Training included Sundance Institute Script Reader & Short Film Labs, script supervisor work and workshops with Hollywood’s best screenwriters/teachers. She has participated as a filmmaker in Baltimore- Richmond 48-Hour Film Festivals and judged DC Shorts and TIVA Awards.
An advocate for family-friendly content, Denene wrote, produced, directed and co-edited Second Time Around, a romance story selected by Women in Film & Video DC as Best Narrative Short (2013). For the CINE Golden Eagle Award-Winning Harvey Fellows Profile documentary, executive produced and directed by Hollywood filmmaker Nikki Hevesy, Denene line produced the Washington DC Shoot and directed some interviews featured in the film.
Currently as a Media Strategist at Salem Media Group, a leading faith & family multimedia company in America, Denene writes commercial scripts, plus develops and manages radio broadcast, audio-TV streaming, digital & event marketing strategies that help businesses, nonprofits and churches grow relationships, reach and revenues.
