Frequently Asked Questions
New to Burke Community Church? We want to make your first visit as easy as possible. Here are answers to the questions we hear most often.
Visiting for the First Time
What denomination is Burke Community Church?
Burke Community Church is a nondenominational Christian church. We’re not affiliated with a specific denomination — our focus is on Scripture, the person of Jesus Christ, and equipping people to know and follow Him. If you want to dig deeper into what we believe, visit our Beliefs page.
What time are Sunday services?
We have two identical Sunday morning services: 9:00 AM and 10:45 AM. Come to whichever fits your schedule — the message, worship, and kids programs are the same at both. Services are also livestreamed online.
How long is a service?
Services run approximately 65–70 minutes.
What should I wear?
Come as you are — seriously. You’ll see jeans and t-shirts alongside business casual. There’s no dress code at Burke Community Church. What matters is that you’re here.
Where do I park?
We’re located at 9900 Old Keene Mill Rd, Burke, VA 22015 — at the corner of the Fairfax County Parkway (Route 286) and Old Keene Mill Road. Guest parking is directly in front of the main building. Because we have over 2,000 people on campus each Sunday, we recommend arriving 15 minutes early. When the main lot fills up, cars are directed to an overflow lot at Cherry Run Elementary — about 4 minutes away with a free shuttle.
Where do I go when I arrive?
Come in through the main entrance and you’ll find our Welcome Center on your right. Stop by for a free welcome gift and to ask any questions. The Worship Center is to the left. If you have kids, Kids Check-In is clearly marked just inside the lobby.
Kids & Students
Is there childcare or a kids program on Sundays?
Yes! We have age-appropriate ministry for every child from birth through 6th grade during both services. Kids check in at the Kids Check-In station in the main lobby. First-time families can also pre-register online to make check-in faster.
What about middle and high school students?
We have dedicated ministries for middle schoolers (The Well) and high schoolers (The Mix). Both meet on campus Sundays and have their own weekly events throughout the week.
Is there a 5th and 6th grade program?
Yes — Ignite is specifically for 5th and 6th graders, bridging kids ministry and student ministry.
Do you have VBS?
Yes! We host Vacation Bible School each summer for kids Kindergarten through 4th grade. Check our VBS page for this year’s dates and registration.
